Click Create split, choose Referral Split at the first step, then pick the split it draws from and set the partner's percentage. They receive an invite and are paid automatically once they have a Melon account with completed KYC.
Before you start
You need the referral partner's email address, and the split their cut comes from must already exist. A referral split always attaches to an existing split.
Creating it
Click Create split.
At What kind of split do you want to create?, choose Referral Split — described as "I want to send money from a split to a third-party".
Click Continue.
Choose the split their cut is drawn from.
Enter their email address and the percentage of your earnings from that split.
Set a timeframe — indefinite, or with an end date.
Create the split.
What the partner does
They get an invite by email. To be paid they must create a Melon account, complete KYC, and connect a bank account. Until then the referral split sits pending and their balance accrues unpaid.
Setting it up at the same time as the split
If you already know a referral partner is involved, you can set this up while creating the original split rather than coming back later. It saves a step and means the first period is covered.
Percentages
The percentage is of your agency's earnings from that split, not of the creator's gross. A 10% referral on a 30% split means the partner gets 10% of your 30%.
