Click Create split at the bottom of your dashboard and answer six questions: which platform, how the balance should accrue, when Melon should charge, which account to connect, the split details, and a final review. The split goes live once the creator accepts their invite.

Some steps only appear for certain platforms — the flow skips anything that does not apply to your choice.

Step 1 — Which platform is this split for?

Pick the platform the creator earns on. This choice decides everything downstream, so it comes first.

Platforms without an API are detected from bank deposits, so they only support cashout splits. If the platform you want is not listed, choose the closest match — any unknown platform falls back to bank-deposit detection.

Step 2 — How should the balance accrue?

Two options, and they behave very differently:

  • Cashout — the balance grows when the creator takes money off the platform. Melon sees the payout or the bank deposit and adds your cut.

  • Earnings — the balance grows every day from the creator's net revenue, whether or not they have cashed out.

Choose earnings when you bill on a regular cycle and cashout when you bill against withdrawals. Cashout or earnings: which split should I use? walks through the trade-offs.

Only OnlyFans, Fansly and SextPanther offer earnings. Everything else skips this step and uses cashout.

Step 3 — When should Melon charge?

This step appears for earnings splits only.

  • Weekly — every Monday

  • Bi-weekly — every other Monday

  • Semi-monthly — the 1st and 16th

  • Monthly — the 1st

All boundaries are UTC midnight, which is late afternoon in the US. A Monday charge is generated Sunday evening Pacific. See When does Melon charge my creators?.

Cashout splits skip this step. They charge when a cashout is detected.

Step 4 — Connect the platform account

For OnlyFans, Fansly and SextPanther, pick the connected account this split reads from. If the account is not connected yet you can connect it here without leaving the flow. See Connecting platforms.

Platforms without an API skip this step.

Step 5 — Split details

  • Split name. Distinct names make a growing roster navigable. We suggest @handle Legal Name Platform — for example @harleyquinnxxx Margot Robinson OnlyFans.

  • Start date. When accrual begins. For a creator who already has a balance on the platform that predates your contract, set the start date far enough ahead that the old balance clears first — otherwise you will charge them for money earned before you represented them.

  • Percentages. Your cut and the creator's. Add more participants with the + icon; see What is a multi-participant split?.

  • Invites. Choose whether Melon emails the creator directly or sends the invite to you to forward.

For a rate that changes with volume, see How do tiered rates work?.

Step 6 — Review

Check the summary and create the split. It sits in Pending until the creator accepts their invite and, where required, connects a bank account. See What are pending splits?.
